Visual Journal I: Due Friday, June 12
As a reminder your sketchbook, or Visual Journal, is an ongoing assignment worth 20% of your course mark. As a reminder, the four things I am looking for from your Visual Journal are:
- Idea development for class assignments – brainstorming, lists, sketches, etc.
- Collection of images that interest you – these images can be collected electronically using a platform like Pinterest
- Experimentation with different visual arts media, tools and processes
- Drawing practice – try drawing a variety of subjects, using a variety of techniques and approaches

X-Ray/Inside/Outside Assignment: Due Monday, April 20
Below you will find a copy of the PowerPoint presentation we looked at in class to activate thinking about the ‘X-Ray/Inside/Inside’ drawing, as well as a copy of the assignment sheet. Please read through the materials provided carefully and begin developing ideas for your assignment. Once you have created a variety of ideas, select the idea you think is the most promising and think carefully about a composition and the materials you plan to use. Finally, begin working on the final piece.

Outstanding Assignments
The COVID-19 school closure is an excellent opportunity to catch up on assignments you have not completed/submitted. Some recent assignments you might consider working on include your Thematic Postcards or your Observational Drawings.
